Very Historic Mauser K98
Information
Very Nice Mauser K98 with the most incredible journey through history. This JP Sauer K98 rifle would have been with the Germans and then was captured by the Russians. Then in its life it went to China and then China gave it to The North Vietnamese (Viet Cong). Then it was captured by the South Vietnamese and final presented in July 1971 to Mr Paul K Edmonds who was the New Zealand ambassador to South Vietnam from 1967 to 1971 as a memento of his time in the Republic of Vietnam. On the plaque it states that it is a Chinese Chiang Kai-Shek rifle but the South Vietnamese got this wrong. This rifle is fully functioning but the chamber has been drilled and the firing pin welded up making this a deactivated firearm but a firearms license is still required to own it.
